Heard some good things about this -Obagi Blue Peel - promises to accelerate your transformaation

I've done a RegimA 40 % peel, the Nimue Chemibrasion X 2 and the Lamelle Beta Peel and been dermarolled in the space of 3 months but I think you would have to really psych myself up for something like this. I've heard excellent things about this peel and the results it produces although the risks of hypo- and hyper pigmentation are always there. I think I'd like to go for training on this eventually.

Obagi is a line of treatments that can be attained under professional supervision. The official website claims that transformation begins with Obagi. (referring to the condition of your skin) . Formulated by internationally renowned dermatologist and chemical peel expert Dr. Zein Obagi, Blue Peel safely and effectively expands your powers of skin rejuvenation
The Obagi Blue Peel  removes dead skin cells from the surface of your face to expose the fresh skin cells that lie beneath. Put more simply, this is a type of chemical peel for the face. This means that a skin care professional or dermatologist must be consulted initially, and then it is decided what level of Obagi Blue Peel treatment is needed. It is stated that this facial peel is used along with the Obagi Nu-Derm System, which may enhance the end result of the procedure.
The Obagi Blue Peel is a treatment that is done in a professional environment by a specialist. The skin care expert assesses the patient’s complexion and then decides on the strength of the procedure. The primary ingredient in this treatment is Trichloroacetic Acid, which is also known as TCA. This component is combined with a specific Obagi Blue Base. There is no sedation required for this type of cosmetic procedure. It is revealed on the website that a slight burning can occur during or after the Obagi Blue Peel (this procedure usually takes one hour). The skin can commonly take up to ten days to fully heal or recuperate.
•It can take seven to ten days to fully heal from the Obagi Blue Peel.
•There may be a burning sensation that comes with this type of procedure (that is why the fan is on in one of the videos).
•You may require several procedures when it comes to this kind of treatment (like many other peels.
•The face may have a bluish hue for up to 24 hours after the Obagi Blue Peel.
Overall, the Obagi Blue Peel is a type of cosmetic procedure that is supposed to lead to faster anti-aging results than mere at-home treatments. This type of procedure may be right for some women and men that are looking for more drastic anti-aging results in a short amount of time. However, you should keep in mind that there are some warnings posed on the website regarding skin irritation with the Obagi Blue Peel procedure. It is crucial to speak with a physician before making any decisions regarding this type of professional beauty treatment.

A well-tolerated procedure, Blue Peel rarely produces erythema or inflammation. Patients can thus resume their normal lives more quickly after Blue Peel than after CO2 lasers or dermabrasion. Blue Peel healing is relatively painless and occurs within seven to ten days.
Skin that's been Blue Peeled heals faster than skin that's experienced other procedures. For example, after lasers or dermabrasion, skin can take two weeks or more to heal and may stay red for three to six months. After Blue Peel, there is light peeling –to medium peeling as after a sunburn. After Blue Peel, skin may exhibit a slight blue tint or redness which fades within seven to ten days.
In a series of 100 patients who underwent one to four Blue Peels, no serious complications were observed. Scars and permanent skin color changes were not observed in any patients.
WHAT IS THE OBAGI BLUE PEEL?

The Obagi BLUE PEEL is a one to four step application of blue solution mixed with TCA (Trichloracetic Acid). These applications will lead to the removal of thin surface layers of aged and damaged skin. Layers of dead skin cells exfoliate and are replaced by healthier ones allowing the skin's own clarity and tightness to resurface.

WHO SHOULD CONSIDER AN OBAGI BLUE PEEL?

Anyone who wants to look better and reverse the appearance of the aging process. Those who have blemish-prone skin, wrinkles, pigmentation problems, sun damage, or general poor skin quality will benefit the most. If you are pregnant, please consult with your physician first.

HOW IS THE OBAGI BLUE PEEL DIFFERENT THAN THE ALPHA HYDROXY PRODUCTS USED BY DOCTORS AND AESTHETICIANS TODAY?

The Obagi BLUE PEEL represents a breakthrough and significant improvement in skin rejuvenation. Using slow acting TCA, instead of glycolic acid, the Obagi BLUE PEEL enables the physician to control the peel process and its depth. The process is tailored to the nature of the problem to be corrected: wrinkles, scars, laxity or pigmentation problems.

WILL THE OBAGI BLUE PEEL PROCEDURE DAMAGE MY SKIN?

No. Peeling the skin lightly in a controlled manner will not cause any damage to the skin. There are no internal toxic effects (TCA is not absorbed through the skin).

HOW MANY OBAGI BLUE PEELS CAN BE DONE?Your doctor will determine how many peels are necessary to achieve the desired result. In most cases the procedure takes 25-30 minutes.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

Depending upon the condition of your skin, 1-4 coats of the Obagi BLUE PEEL solution will be applied. Most people will not require sedation. If the doctor indicates sedation, you will need someone to drive you home.

At each level, you will experience a mild burning sensation that lasts 2 to 3 minutes. The doctor may use an electric fan to minimize this sensation. A bluish tint remains on your skin: it will usually wash off in 12 to 24 hours. Your skin will begin to peel within 2 to 3 days and should be healed in an average of 7 to 10 days. This peeling should not disrupt your regular lifestyle.

CAN THE OBAGI BLUE PEEL PROCEDURE BE USED TO TREAT OTHER PARTS OF THE BODY?

Yes. The Obagi BLUE PEEL can be performed on the neck, chest, hands, back, arms and legs using the same technique as for the face. Discuss the benefits and process with your physician.

CAN I DO THE OBAGI BLUE PEEL PROCEDURE MYSELF?

No, the Obagi BLUE PEEL is a medical procedure and MUST be performed by a physician or a properly trained specialist working under his/her supervision.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD THE OBAGI BLUE PEEL PROCEDURE BE PERFORMED?

Obagi BLUE PEEL treatments can be performed in 4 week intervals until the desired correction is achieved. Annual Obagi BLUE PEELS assist in the long-term maintenance of skin health and fitness. NOTE: Deep scars and hyperpigmentation may need deeper peels and/or other treatment modalities.

CAN I APPLY MAKE-UP AFTER AN OBAGI BLUE PEEL?

Generally, make-up is not recommended for the first 7 to 10 days or until the skin has completely peeled. More specific information will be supplied by your health care professional.

WHAT TYPE OF PRODUCTS SHOULD I USE ON MY SKIN?

Obagi NU-DERM Products which promote skin health through correction and stimulation are recommended with Obagi BLUE PEEL. Ask your doctor or skin health specialist for more information on Obagi NU-DERM
