We sat on the table that is third from the front of this picture

The husband and I were getting a serious case of the Nibbles and being told just a few days before by Best Friend and Hubby at Nice (they love food too) about Dukes we were itching to try it out. We sat in their enclosed outside courtyard ( ooh-la-la alfresco ) because inside was absolutely packed and as we sat outside that became packed too. The burger menu is extensive and you will find something to suite your tastes. There is attention to detail when serving at the owner Ari Shapiro

( his wife Lori Baar is the Co-owner) checks every plate as it comes out of the kitchen.

Duke’s on the trendy Greenside strip offers  deliriously delicious gargantuan gourmet burgers with fabulous , unforgettable names. There’s beef, chicken, lamb, ostrich and some marvelous vegetarian burgers too. It’s fun and quirky as well as ornate, with orange-framed mirrors, chandeliers, velvet couches and purple walls and completely unpretentious. The service is friendly and efficient. The only that marred the night out was a table behind us in the outside booth where a few Tipsy Tarts kept trying to sing the Gummi Bears theme song ( with hideous, Alley cat voices ). Eventually they were asked to leave  since they were disrupting everyone.
The hubby liked his burger so much he ordered another and we were both too stuffed to try dessert. I did have a gingerbread milkshake though. Try Dukes – you won’t regret it! I recommend booking a table just in case. We just got lucky.
Check out their Website http://dukesburgers.co.za/ - the full menu is available and the website plays a cool song
